We are an international law firm specializing in corporate and commercial law in the Middle East.


We regularly advise local and international corporate clients, government authorities as well as non-governmental organizations in all areas of commercial and corporate law. Our corporate services range from company registration to high-level M&A transactions. Our local team in Erbil has registered over 200 subsidiary companies and 100 branch offices,  and was first in establishing the initial branch of a foreign multinational firm in Kurdistan.

On the transactional side, we advise on all aspects of corporate, tax, and employment matters.  We have extensive expertise in Iraqi finance and banking matters with particular emphasis on loan restructuring as well as purchase and sale of government debt instruments. Moreover, we render advice on a regular basis in connection with applicable oil legislation and its impact on concessions, production sharing agreements, and cooperation agreements.  

Our local lawyers are well known and have an excellent reputation within the relevant local Ministries and other Government institutions. Regular liaison with these institutions is indispensable to providing accurate legal assessments in Kurdistan.
On the litigation side, we provide a full range of services in litigation and arbitration proceedings throughout the Kurdistan region, and recently lead a team of local lawyers representing a local corporation in 700 civil compensation cases.

Our legal team at the Erbil office is comprised of three experienced and well-established Kurdish lawyers, all of whom are admitted to the Kurdistan Lawyers Association, one senior German qualified Iraqi lawyer (Of Counsel), and one senior foreign legal consultant from our Munich office. Moreover, the Erbil office maintains close ties to our other offices in Iraq, thus being able to draw on a large pool of qualified Iraqi lawyers. The Erbil team is regularly supported by lawyers in our international office network, including US qualified lawyers with many years of experience in the Middle East.
